Industrial buildings

Heat pumps and HVAC for industrial buildings

Industrial buildings have large roofs, well suited to solar panels, and spaces with very different needs: offices, changing rooms, laboratories, production or storage areas. We assess the building and design the system for each type of space.

What matters

The building's needs

  • Large roofs

The roof area allows a solar array that powers the heat pumps during sunny hours. We check the roof's load capacity and the electrical connection.

  • Different spaces, one project

Offices and welfare areas need comfort, while production and storage areas have their own temperature and ventilation requirements. We treat them separately.

  • Working hours

Heating and cooling are scheduled by zone, around shifts and working days.

  • Phased expansion

Heat pumps connected in cascade allow units to be added when the building or the demand grows.

The solution

What the system can include

  • Air-to-water heat pumps and a buffer tank, sized to the building's actual loads.
  • A rooftop solar array, with controls that use the energy produced for the heat pumps.
  • Brisell HW high-wall fan coils for higher outputs in offices and annexes.
  • Brisell OC fan coils in the false ceiling for office areas.
  • Noto+ heat recovery units for small rooms without ventilation, such as changing rooms or private offices.
  • For production or storage halls, the heating, cooling and ventilation solution is decided after the assessment.

Stages

How a project runs

  1. First conversation

You tell us about the building and what you want. We ask for drawings, bills or details of the existing system, if you have them.

  2. Site visit and assessment

On site we check the roof, the plant rooms, the electrical connection and the possible pipe and duct routes.

  3. Design and quote

We propose the layout, the equipment and the work stages, with a price for each stage.

  4. Installation and commissioning

We install, balance and commission the system, then train the people who use and manage it.

Frequently asked questions

What clients ask us

Can the solar panels cover all of the heat pumps' consumption?

It depends on the roof area and orientation, on the building's consumption and on the season. In winter the panels produce less and the heat pumps also run on grid power. We calculate the share the panels cover in the design, for your building.

Do you work in a building that is in use?

Yes. We plan the work in stages and by zone, together with the building manager, so that operations can continue.

What information do you need for a quote?

The building drawings, floor areas and heights, the activity in each zone, working hours, energy bills and the existing system, if any.
