Sizing
How powerful should the terminal be
As a quick estimate, the Sollis 2024 catalog calculates the required output from the room volume: P = K × V.
- V = room volume in m³ (floor area × height).
- K = 25–30 W/m³ for cooling and 35–40 W/m³ for heating; the lower value for well-insulated homes.
- Example: 20 m² × 2.7 m = 54 m³, so roughly 1.4–1.6 kW for cooling and 1.9–2.2 kW for heating.
These values are indicative. In the design we calculate each room's load, including orientation, windows and occupants.
